Guest Post: Arthur Griffin, The Lusty Adventures of Theseus

The Lusty Adventures of Theseus

Hi there! My name’s Arthur Griffin, and I’m super-stoked to visit Scott’s little corner of the web as part of my blog tour promoting my new book, The Lusty Adventures of Theseus, which I describe as a gay mythological erotic comic adventure fantasy. You know, simple. People ask me what drove me to write Lusty Adventures. Well, the truth is there were several impetuses… impeti… impe… There were several reasons I wanted to write it. The first is I’m a big old nerd, and Greek mythology has always been near and dear to my heart. I’ve always loved all the … Read more

Angel and Scott

Hey all… I just got back from Dreamspinner’s annual retreat. I had a fantastic time there with a bunch of QSFers, including but not limited to Angel Martinez, Jon Keys, Jamie Fessenden, Lloyd Meeker, Andrew Q. Gordon, Brandon Witt, Elizabeth Noble, Z. Allora, Shira Anthony, Skylar M. Cates, Wade Kelly, Gus Li, Clare London, Pearl Love, and Erika Orrick. If I left you out, I apologize in advance – it was a whirlwind! There were so many of us there, and I also met a bunch of fantastic non-QSFers at the retreat (or maybe future ones?) 🙂 Anyhow, I thought … Read more

Point of View: Recognition

Vancy

We all want to make a little money in this business. Yes, most writers write because they can’t NOT write. Because there’s something inside each of us that drives us to express ourselves through the written word, putting out into the world the stories we see in our heads. But we also want to make a living at this grand creative act, so we can afford to keep doing it. And yet, there’s something else that most writers crave as much or more than financial compensation. We dream of that person at a con coming up to us and fangirling … Read more

Review: Untouchable, by LV Lloyd

Untouchable

I just finished a book I’d been planning to read for a long time – LV Lloyd’s “Untouchable”. It’s a space opera, and the fifth book in Lloyd’s Aurigan series. It’s also the first full-length book I have read by Lloyd. I really enjoyed the book. In a nutshell, it’s about several “oms” (Aurigan parlance for homosexual) on the patrol ship Qatar. The story opens with a bang – with one of them on trial for raping a minor, the son of his best friend. Then it spins back to the situation that resulted in the trial, and off we … Read more
