Cia Nordwell Reviews Myths Untold: Faery

Cia Nordwell

Just in – a great review from Cia Nordwell: – here’s what she said about the anthology, and my story, “Through the Veil”.: Would that I could pick a favorite out of these stories in the anthology. They span a mix of contemporary fantasy, futuristic fantasy, pure fantasy, and fairy tale. I loved that each of these authors created faeries that fit their story structure… The writing is uniformly well done, every story is unique and intriguing in its own way. No matter what flavor of faery you usually prefer, you’ll fall in love with every incarnation in this anthology. … … Read more

Four Star Review of “Myths Untold: Faery” by Molly Lolly

Molly Lolly

Just in – a great review from Molly Lolly: – here’s what she said about the anthology, and my story, “Through the Veil”. Also, a guest post by me about researching the story: This anthology was fabulous. I enjoyed all of the stories and how each author took faeries and the Feary realm and made it their own. It’s a smaller anthology but it had pretty much everything I could want since I’m such a huge fantasy, faery and magic fan. Many of the stories had me wanting more from the characters or ended in a way that made me think … Read more

Surprise Review for “The Homecoming”

My book “The Homecoming” came out last year from Less Than 3 Press. Now Rainbow Gold Reviews is surprising me with a review (and it’s a good one): Homecoming is different than any book I have read before. I had a little trouble getting into it at first but It isn’t due to the author’s writing. I believe it has to do with how much info is given in a small amount of words. The characters and scenes were vividly detailed. I enjoyed how the author intertwined shifters with the science fiction genre. If you like a short story with … Read more

4.5 Star Review for Myths Untold: Faery from Wicked Faerie’s Tales & Reviews

Myths Untold: Faery

Just in – a great review from Wicked Faerie’s Tales & Reviews: – here’s what they said about my story, “Through the Veil” and the Anthology overall: The final story, and my absolute favorite of the anthology is Through The Veil by J. Scott Coatsworth. The story is set in a dystopian version of the contemporary world that humans have destroyed through their ignorance. There are those that live on the outskirts and those that live in the inner city where life goes on almost as it did pre-Tsunami times. Colton lives day to day trying to survive the best way … Read more

A Great Review for Myths Untold: Faery from The Novel Approach!

The Novel Approach

Just in – a fantastic review from The Novel Approach: – here’s what they said about my story, “Through the Veil”: Author J. Scott Coatsworth closes out Myths Untold in a fantastic way with Through the Veil—and gave the other stories a tightly contested run for title of my favorite in the collection. In an alternate San Francisco of the future, a dystopia that lends the story its mythical atmosphere, Colton lives a hardscrabble life as a gondolier and occasional thief. He is a man of needs and contradictions who meets his fate on Alcatraz island in the form of Tris, a stranger from the … Read more

Great Review for Myths Untold: Faery!

Anna Butler

Just got an amazing review from Anna Butler for our new anthology, Myths Untold: Faery: I’ve never grown out of my love for myth and faery stories. In their purest forms, they’re primeval, subversive, eldritch, enlightening, sinister, unsafe and ultimately unknowable. When I graduated up from Grimm, it was to Warner Townsend and Dunsany both of whom have moulded my views of what Faerie is, or may be: minutely detailed, threatening worlds with their cold, inhuman and amoral peoples. Get some of that into a modern day take of faery, and I will be satisfied. Four very different authors. Four very different … Read more

Review: Untouchable, by LV Lloyd

Untouchable

I just finished a book I’d been planning to read for a long time – LV Lloyd’s “Untouchable”. It’s a space opera, and the fifth book in Lloyd’s Aurigan series. It’s also the first full-length book I have read by Lloyd. I really enjoyed the book. In a nutshell, it’s about several “oms” (Aurigan parlance for homosexual) on the patrol ship Qatar. The story opens with a bang – with one of them on trial for raping a minor, the son of his best friend. Then it spins back to the situation that resulted in the trial, and off we … Read more

Another Five Star Review for “The Autumn Lands”

Just got a fantastic review for “The Autumn Lands” (five stars) from Kara at Inked Rainbow Reads: To start of this review I have to say this world the author created in this book was amazing! The author explains everything that is happening in this world you really feel like you are there. Jerrith is on the run after being caught kissing Caspian. The moment these two men eyes meet they just knew they were meant for each other. I will just say I loved the way this author wrote these characters. Between the Dual POV’s which was awesome to … Read more
