Today, Morticia Knight – Author Morticia Knight spends most of her nights writing about men loving men forever after. If there happens to be some friendly bondage or floggings involved, she doesn’t begrudge her characters whatever their filthy little hearts desire.
I’m afraid Morticia couldn’t be here today, so Austin Kent has agreed to stand in for her. Austin is an investigative technician who recently worked with Homicide Detective Beau Williams on the Las Vegas Conventioneer killings. Thanks for taking one for the team, Austin!
Austin: Hey, I do what I can.
Scott: As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Austin: Rich? Probably not what you meant heh heh. But seriously folks, I always wanted to be a detective. I love puzzles, love figuring out how people tick, ya know? Being an investigative technician is a good, close second to that.
JSC: If you had the opportunity to live one year of your life over again, which year would you choose, and why?
Austin: Ah, man. That’s a tough one. I know of one day I’d sure like to live over… But I’d rather not get into that right now.
JSC: Tell me one thing hardly anyone knows about you.
Austin: Look, I know I kid around a lot. But I’m not as shallow as everyone thinks I am. No, really. I swear. Quit giving me that look!
JSC: Tell me about a unique or quirky habit of yours.
Austin: Tripping. Face-planting. Smashing my fingers in anything and everything that could potentially smash them. Scraping my elbow. Bumping my head… I think that about covers it.
JSC: If you were stuck on a desert island all alone with only three things, what would they be?
Austin: Beau, the hottest ginger detective alive, a solar powered record player and all the top jazz recordings. I think me and Beau could keep ourselves busy heh heh.
JSC: What action would your name be if it were a verb?
Austin: Clutzy.
JSC: What fictional speculative fiction character would you like to spend an evening with, and why?
Austin: Sting from that film Dune. He’s hot. Ooh, and David Bowie from Legend. I can’t remember the character names, but I do remember those guys. Does that count?
JSC: Would you visit the future or the past, and why?
Austin: Future, all the way. I gotta find out if we get to drive those really cool cars like they have in the Fifth Element or Minority Report. I love a good ride. Hey. Get your mind out of the gutter. *narrows eyes*
JSC: Star Trek or Star Wars? Why?
Austin: Star Wars. Ewan McGregor and that little asshole who plays Solo and Leia’s son in the new ones. I can’t seem to make up my mind whether I like a good boy or a bad boy. Maybe a little of both? *grins*
JSC: What meds are you supposed to be taking?
Austin: That’s too long of a list.
JSC: What’s your drink of choice?
Austin: Pphh. That’s easy. Top shelf whiskey, all the way. If not that, then a good craft ale at a blues or jazz festival.
JSC: What’s in your fridge right now?
Austin: That’s too terrifying to discuss. It’s been a while since I’ve looked in that thing.
JSC: What food(s) fuel your investigative work?
Austin: Gourmet Coffee, peanut butter fudge shakes, chili dogs and chocolate croissants. Foods of the gods.
And now for Morticia’s new book: Justice Prevails:
Never judge a sexy man by his cover…
Beau is deadly serious when it comes to his job as a homicide detective for the LVMPD. He also has a taste for the finer things in life, but no time to enjoy much of anything with such a heavy caseload—especially now that a serial killer is terrorizing the streets of Las Vegas.
Investigative Technician Austin never met a snarky joke he didn’t like—or a set of stairs that couldn’t trip him up. One night after a devastating episode at work, Austin sees something else he likes—the handsome detective he’s spotted around the station. But after he makes a drunken fool of himself in front of Detective Williams, Austin is sure he’s destroyed any hope of ever going out with Beau on a real date.
Beau and Austin’s worlds collide when Austin is sent to pick up some evidence at the station. Amidst a myriad of twists and turns in the troubling serial killer-style murders of Vegas conventioneers, Austin and Beau discover there’s more to the other than they’d originally thought. There might even be more they’d love to share—unless the killer has the final say.
Reader advisory: This book contains scenes of violence and peril.
Publisher’s note: This book has previously been released under the same title. It has been revised and expanded for rerelease.
