AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT: Giovanna Reaves

Welcome to my weekly Author Spotlight. I’ve asked a bunch of my author friends to answer a set of interview questions, and to share their latest work.

Today, Giovanna Reaves – Giovanna (Gia) Reaves is my alter ego, who is a dreamer. I spend my days and nights dreaming and thinking of the world’s I want to create with words. I started writing about three years ago, when I was introduced to the world of fan fiction. I loved the idea of creating a new world around characters that people already knew about. And ones that are original of my own making. I have written two novels and a few free stories.- .

Gia Reaves

Thanks so much, Giovanna, for joining me!

JSC: When did you know you wanted to write, and when did you discover that you were good at it?

Giovanna Reaves: I knew I wanted to write years ago. But I was afraid to take the plunge. I used to keep a notebook and write short stories in it. They were M/F ones with no sex scenes, and I figured no one wanted to read them.

I’d packed the notebook away, and the desire to write with it.

A couple of years ago I got into writing SLASH fan fiction and the same desire to write came back. This time it was louder than before. I’m not sure if it was because of the change in genre, or because I loved to read. But I wanted to write, so I did it.

My first chapter sucked. It was filled with so many grammar errors I figured the readers would flame me. But they didn’t. They asked for more chapters, and that’s when I knew I was good at it. I figured it people can see through my grammar issues and saw a plot, I must be good at it.

JSC: How would you describe your writing style/genre?

GR: I write mpreg. Or as some would describe it, Alpha/Beta/Omega.

JSC: What was your first published work? Tell me a little about it.

GR: “My One-Night Stand, My Forever” was my first published work. It starts out with a scientist who developed a serum that caused men to be able to get pregnant. The main characters are Jasxon Colvin and Christen Hamilton, who end up having a one-night stand. It also ends up with Christen getting pregnant. The focus of the plot is not just the pregnancy, but also how Cristen and Jaxson fall in love.

JSC: What’s your writing process?

GR: I’m not as organized as some writers are. I’m not sure how to describe my writing process, if I even have one. I usually just sit in front of my computer and pray that the words will come. I’ve tried doing outlines and it never seems to work for me. The only thing that seems to be consistent when I sit down is a short synopsis of what the story is going to be about.

JSC: What are you working on now, and when can we expect it?

GR: My next book, coming out December 13th, is called “Protecting His Omega“, and is available on Amazon for preorder now:

Phoenix Harcourt, a single father who was kicked out of his home when his parents found out that he was an Omega. After losing his Alpha mate, Phoenix turned his focus to his daughter and the successful company left in his care. With a threat to his life, Phoenix hires a bodyguard, a man who wants to protect more than his body. He also want’s to posses Phoenix’s heart for his own. Hired to protect an Omega, Lucius Payne had one goal; do his job nothing else. Lucius never mixes business with pleasure. Finding an Omega mate was never in his plans, especially when it is the man he is supposed to protect. His job becomes more complicated than he was expecting. Can Lucius convince Phoenix to trust him with his heart as well as his body?

Note: The book contains mpreg, but it’s not the focus of the book.

Jordan's Pryde

And now for Giovanna’s most recent book: Jordan’s Pryde:

All he did was apply for a job and then his world was turned upside down.

Thrust into the world he had no idea about, Jordan Sutton’s only goal was to get a job working for Duncan Pryde of Pryde Industries. He thought werewolves, vampires, and faes belonged in fairy tales, not in the real world. What will he do when he finds out that there’s more than meets the eye to his boss and his family?

Duncan Pryde had too much going on in his life. He became the sole guardian of his twin niece and nephew along with the addition of his pack and company. He had no time to think about a mate when trouble came to his front door. What happens when the man he hired for one job turns out to be his destined mate? Does he deny what he feels or embrace it?

Disclaimer: Contains Mpreg but not the focus of the story. This book contains explicit language and is intended for adult readers over the age of 18+
